AI Employees: 8 Open Source Roles You Can Install and Charge For

Eight AI agent roles. Open source. MIT licence. Free to install.

That is the short version. Here is the longer one.

I run Reinventing.AI as a solo founder. I used to be a domain reseller and blogger. Some of what I build runs my own business. The rest I build because I know other people need it. The AI Employees are in the second pile, and they are free.

Free stuff, grab these first

  • The eight open source AI Employees: the page says "All eight are open source under the MIT license." Every plan, including Free, gets the repo and an install prompt for the employees you pick.
  • MIT licence summary: commercial use, distribution and modification are allowed. The one condition is keeping the licence and copyright notice.
  • GitHub's ai-agents topic: about 127,000 public repos tagged with AI agents. Good for seeing what already exists before you build.
  • Apify Store: roughly 91,000 ready-made tools called Actors. Handy when an agent needs data to work with.

The 8 roles

Each one is a job, not a chatbot. Wording below is straight from the live page.

Employee The job
GTM Engineer "Finds people who are ready to buy and writes the first message."
SEO/AEO Employee "Improves search content and answers your buyers' questions."
Web Dev Employee "Finds what broke on your site and fixes it for you to approve."
Social Media Employee "Turns what you did this week into posts in your voice."
Ad Manager Employee "Reads your ad results and prepares the next ads to test."
Sales Employee "Keeps every conversation moving until it closes or clears."
Customer Satisfaction Employee "Answers your support inbox, hardest ticket first."
Chief of Staff "Watches every other employee and tells you what needs attention."

Notice the pattern. Each one prepares work and hands it to you. You approve. That is why people can trust them with a real business.

Why "charge for" is not a trick

MIT means you can use these commercially. Install one, point it at a small business that has a messy inbox or a dead social account, and run it for them.

The software is free. The setup, the care and the follow-through are what a client pays for.

I am not promising income. Nobody can. I am telling you the licence allows it, and that small businesses already pay people to do these jobs by hand.

Pick one

Do not install all eight. Pick the one that matches a problem you already understand.

  • Know search? Start with the SEO/AEO Employee.
  • Know support? Start with the Customer Satisfaction Employee.
  • Know outreach? Start with the GTM Engineer.

One role. One client. One week. Then decide what is next.

The club behind them

The roles live inside the Agent Ops Club. Free covers the eight. Pro is $99 a month or $349 a year. Lifetime is $499 until October 31, paid once.

If you want the whole club rather than just the repo, the Lifetime price is the one with a clock on it. Everything starts at the page I linked in the free list: the AI Employees library. Hit "Get the 8 employees free" and see if it fits first.

One small ask

If you build with agents, come hang out. I run the Vibe Coding is Life Facebook group and a free Skool community. Tell me which role you installed first.
