I always enjoyed the way Apple managed to cut off non-essential stuff in its products while keeping them as capable as others.
A recent experience adjusting Apple account settings is a good example that reminds of this 'clean and simple' philosophy.
At first glance there's no much difference from Goolge. In both pages UI is not cluttered, there's enough empty space. Objectively there's just 1 more side menu item (7 vs 6) and content part of the page has slightly more items.
Yet right away I had this feeling of weight of Google Account page (vs feeling of lightness with Apple ID). Part of that impression is due to chosen styles and looks, part is just my subjective perception or bias towards Material design by Google... A solid chuck of impression comes from the fact that Google has scrolling in its page :)
