Conclusion

“Writing is a form of self-expression that can be therapeutic, even if you never intend to publish your work.”

I always read blogs from different software engineers who recommend that new developers make blog posts to gain experience in writing. They say that with blogging, you will develop new skills that not every developer has.

How to become a standout developer in 2023; start a blog.

Introduction

I came across this quote:

"Blogging is a powerful magnet that a developer can use to find future opportunities in software engineering."

However, I am hesitant about whether I should start blogging. Will I really benefit from writing blogs or not?
So, even though I have no idea what to write about, I want to give it a shot and try to make my first blog post before the end of the year. I promised myself I'd have it up before the clock strikes midnight!

Searching for inspiration felt a bit like exploring a dark maze. Where should I even start? What topic should I choose? Do I need to be an expert before I write? I scoured the internet for helpful tips, but even with all that searching, a title and a specific focus for this post remain elusive. But hey, I'm not giving up yet! I'll find a name for it eventually.

Favorite Bloggers and Platforms

One of my favorite bloggers is Ankur Tyagi, and I like his writing style. I hope to find my own writing style soon. I also enjoy reading the blog overreacted.io, which has some good blog posts about React and an excellent writing style.

  • Hashnode

Hashnode is a developer-centric blogging platform that provides a space for software engineers to create and share content.

  • Dev.to

Short for "Developer Community," is a vibrant platform designed for programmers and software developers. It serves as a collaborative space where developers can share knowledge, experiences, and insights through writing.

  • Medium

Medium is a publishing platform where people can read important, insightful stories on the topics that matter most to them and share ideas with the world.

Ultimate Guide for Developers

I found a post titled, "The-ultimate-guide-for-developers-to-write-blog-posts" and these are the main points that I found useful and will try during this post:

  •  Don't worry about having a unique topic.

Use this to focus on finding your voice and building confidence rather than stressing about originality. Start with something you're interested in and passionate about, even if it's been covered before.

  • Don't fear that nobody will read your post.

Focus on enjoying the process of writing and sharing your thoughts. It's a learning experience, and even a small audience can be valuable.

  • Copying is legal.

Copying is legal intel, and you will find your style of writing. Experimenting with different writing styles can be helpful in the beginning, but eventually finding your own unique voice is crucial. Don't feel bad about copying someone else's idea for a tweet, blog post, book, course, community, or app. They stole it from someone else.

“Keep copying/getting inspired and continue writing! And you slowly find your own style in blogging.”

  • It's okay to ask for help from AI.

AI made to help us so it's okay to use it to make your writing look good and have meaning but you should mention it like "this post has used AI correction of something like this".

“Start with a simple schedule and stick to it.”

If you are reading this post now, that means I did it. I made my first step in writing blog posts.

Every software engineer or developer has a unique story, so share yours!

Writing is a process!...
