Github is great, but have you considered how to make yours more attractive for potential employers or other visitors? Even non-tech ones like recruiters!

I found this book to be really helpful. It does a good job explaining some of the quirks of JavaScript, as well as some easy project walk-throughs to practice some of those ideas.
