Every few weeks I need to save a video from somewhere. Not regularly enough to justify a subscription tool, but often enough that the friction of browser extensions and command-line tools got annoying.
So I built ClipYank. It's a Mac app, costs $2, does one thing: you paste a URL and it downloads the video.
No account. No subscription. No browser extension to keep updated. Just paste and download.
It handles the usual sources -- YouTube, Twitter/X, Vimeo, most embed players. I use it a couple times a month and it's reliably fast.
If you're on Mac and you occasionally need to save a video without setting up a whole workflow around it, it might be worth $2: https://www.clipyank.xyz
Curious if anyone's found other lightweight tools in this space that actually stay working long-term.
