These days I do more Javascript and CSS and whatnot, and promote UX and accessibility.
My immediate thought is that choosing Spoitify as your non-free test app was a bad idea. I don't use it, but I'm pretty certain there's a web interface - and I think it's reasonable to assume that people wouldn't put the effort into making a proprietary binary for something you can run in your browser already.

Yes, Fedora doesn't enable Non-free repos and doesn't include Non-free applications by default.
Also, I personally prefer Spotify web app (PWA) over the Electron app.
