Hey everyone!
I've been working with Rust and Axum and wanted to make the initial setup of API projects more organized and less repetitive. So, I built Xecute, an open-source CLI tool for Rust API development.
To clarify, Xecute is not a web framework. It's a set of tools and macros built on top of Axum. You still use Axum as your web framework, with Xecute helping you organize your application architecture.
What it provides
- MVC architecture by default, with optional CQRS
- Modular project and resource generation
- Dependency injection
- Payload validation and consistent error handling
- Middleware support
- Swagger/OpenAPI documentation
- Structured logging and development hot reload
You can create and run a project with just a few commands:
cargo install xecute-cli --locked
xecute new my-api
cd my-api
xecute run dev
The goal is to reduce repetitive setup so developers can focus more on application logic while keeping Axum's flexibility.

I'd appreciate feedback from the Rust community!
What would you improve, and what features would you want in a tool like this?
