Some of the most important work on a team is almost invisible. It may be customer rescue, documentation, incident follow-up, or the quiet coordination that stops two groups from building opposite things.
Ask, "What valuable work does this team do that is hardest to see in a roadmap or dashboard?"
The answer shows what the organization notices and what it accidentally takes for granted. It can also reveal whether performance reviews reward only launches while maintenance and mentoring happen after hours.
A thoughtful interviewer may describe how they make this work visible. Perhaps they review operational improvements, track prevented incidents, or include internal enablement in planning. That is a stronger signal than simply insisting that every contribution matters.
