You cannot get or renew a UAE residence visa without proof of valid health insurance. Dubai's DHA requires the Essential Benefit Plan for lower earners and domestic workers, Abu Dhabi's DOH requires Daman's Basic plan, and since 1 January 2025 the requirement applies nationwide across all seven emirates.
