"Wait, YOU'RE the developer?" - Being a woman in tech

It's 2025. Women still represent less than 20% of developers.
I won't lie to you: it's exhausting. Exhausting to have to prove your skills twice as much. Exhausting to be the only woman on a team of 15 people. Exhausting to hear "you're pretty good at coding for a girl" as if it were a compliment.
But what strikes me most is the domino effect. When a young girl sees no women developers around her, she thinks it's not for her. When she gets interrupted in technical meetings, she doubts herself. When her achievements are minimized, she withdraws.

I'm tired of people underestimating our potential.

I've met incredible women developers. Women who code complex systems, who lead teams, who create startups. But they're invisible. Because we don't talk about them enough.
So here's my message: if you're a woman hesitating to get into development because you're afraid you don't belong, know that you absolutely belong here. Your vision, your approach, your ideas are valuable.
And if you're already in the field, keep going. Even when it's hard. Because every time a woman stays, she opens the door for ten others.

We deserve our place. Period.
