The result held the character well. The silver hair with the side braid, the transparent umbrella, the black outfit, and the teal pendant all stayed consistent through the clip. She clearly rose from her seated pose and stepped toward the camera, her hair moved naturally with her, and she finished on a calm smile. That she left the seated position is the important part, which I'll come back to below.
It wasn't flawless, and the miss is instructive. The character's heterochromia didn't go through. In the portrait she has one gold and one purple eye, but in the video both eyes read gold for most of the clip, so that distinctive detail dropped.
The model also brightened the scene from the original rainy night toward the warm evening I asked for. So consistency here means the character reads clearly as herself on her major features, not that every fine detail transfers untouched.
Then I ran the same kind of consistency test on the lighter V3.0 Lite model, with a different character: a girl with light blue eyes and long purple hair with subtle sparkles in it.

I animated one clean portrait twice, changing the motion each time, to see whether she stayed the same person across two clips.
Prompt: The character looks down at her hands, then slowly lifts her eyes to the camera and gives a faint smile. Hair sways gently. The camera slowly pushes in toward her face. Warm indoor lighting, anime illustration style, gentle slow motion.
In the first clip, identity held well. The light blue eyes, the long purple hair, and her features stayed consistent from start to finish, with no drift or flickering, and the warm indoor lighting matched the prompt. The gentle hair movement and the slow camera push-in both came out clean.
Two small things changed from the source. The model added an indoor room and visible hands that I hadn't asked for, and the subtle sparkles in her hair mostly disappeared in the animation.
For the second clip, I used the first generated video as the reference for the next one, which PixAI lets you do.
Prompt: The character turns her head to the side as a breeze lifts her hair, then takes one small step forward and looks up. Petals drift past behind her. The camera slowly pulls back to reveal more of the scene. Soft daylight, anime illustration style.
Identity held again in the second clip. Her eyes, hair, and features stayed stable, with no noticeable drift. The head turn, the breeze in her hair, the camera pull-back, and the drifting petals all came through. The model again added detail I hadn't specified, moving her from the indoor setting into an outdoor scene with blooming trees and benches to fit the new prompt.
Across both models and all three clips, the pattern was the same. The characters stayed recognizably themselves, and the things that slipped were fine details, the heterochromia and the hair sparkles, and precise action beats, not identity itself.
So usable consistency is achievable across PixAI's video models, and v4.0 Preview raises the ceiling rather than being the only option that holds a character together. So build your clip around the motion the tool does well: lead with camera and ambient movement, and don't stake the whole result on one specific action landing exactly. Keep the motion in the range the model handles cleanly and you get a far more reliable clip.
Voice, audio, and short-scene potential
