Where to Find the Statistics Tab
- Navigate to WordPress Admin: Log in to your WordPress dashboard and locate the NEXU WP menu in the sidebar.
- Open Video Ad Settings: Click on Video Ads > Statistics. This is where the plugin records all activity tied to your pre-roll campaigns.
-
Understand the Default View: The table displays three key metrics by default:
- Impressions: How many times the ad began playing.
- Skips: How many viewers clicked past the ad before completion.
- Interactions: Clicks on any visit links you've configured (if enabled).
Note: The plugin does not replace Google Analytics or ad-network dashboards. It provides a lightweight, actionable log for editorial decisions.
Filtering and Exporting Data
The Statistics tab is designed for quick reviews, not deep segmentation. Use these steps to refine what you see:
- Date Range: Adjust the start/end fields to isolate activity for a specific campaign period. This helps compare performance before and after changes to ad timing or content.
- Widget vs. Global: The table distinguishes between ads set per-widget (in Elementor) and global ads (configured in WordPress admin). Look for the Source column to identify which is which.
- Export for Records: Click the Export CSV button to generate a spreadsheet. This is useful for sharing with stakeholders or merging with other site metrics in tools like Excel or Airtable.
Pro Tip: If you're running A/B tests on ad clips, export data weekly to spot trends in skip rates.
What the Numbers Actually Mean
Avoid overinterpreting the raw counts. Instead, use the statistics to answer practical questions:
- High Skip Rates? If >60% of viewers skip within 3 seconds, your ad may feel misaligned with the page content. Shorten the clip or adjust the skip timer in the Elementor widget settings.
- Low Interactions? If fewer than 5% of viewers click the visit link, the call-to-action might be unclear. Revisit the ad's messaging or the URL destination in the plugin's widget panel.
- Global vs. Per-Widget Performance: Compare rows where the same ad runs globally versus on specific pages. If global skips are higher, consider excluding sensitive content (e.g., help articles) in the General settings tab.
When to Combine with Other Tools
The Statistics tab is intentionally minimal. For deeper analysis:
- Pair with Google Analytics: Use UTM parameters on your ad's visit links to track conversions in GA4.
- Monitor Server Load: If you're serving self-hosted ad clips, check your hosting metrics during traffic spikes. The plugin itself adds negligible overhead, but video files can strain shared servers.
- Complement with Heatmaps: Tools like Hotjar reveal where users drop off during playback, while the plugin tells you how often they skip.
Next Step: Open the Statistics tab in your WordPress admin and filter for the past 7 days. Pick one metric to improve this week, then adjust a single variable (e.g., ad length or placement) and revisit the data.
