How to Set Up Odoo Maintenance?

Below are the steps to follow for Odoo maintenance.

1. Create maintenance teams

1. First, go to Maintenance -> Configuration → Maintenance Teams
2. Now, click on New and enter your Team Name
3. Add Team Members from the drop-down or search to add more users
4. If you are running multiple companies, Select the Company
5. Click Save.

2. Create equipment categories

1. Go to Maintenance Module. Click on Configuration, then click on Equipment Categories
2. Now click New and enter your Category Name
3. Assign a Responsible user
4. (If multi-company) Select the Company
5. Optionally, add Comments
6. Click Save.

3. Add equipment

1. Go to the Maintenance module. Click on Equipment, then Machines & Tools
2. Now click on New and enter the Equipment Name
3. Now select the Equipment Category and (if multi-company) the Company
4. Set Used By: Department, Employee, or Other
5. Assign a Maintenance Team and Technician
6. Specify the Location or Work Centre
7. Add details in Description and Product Information (vendor, model, serial number, effective date, cost, warranty)
8. Click Save.

4. Track maintenance metrics

To track maintenance metrics, open an equipment record and go to the Maintenance tab to view:

1. Expected MTBF (estimated)
2. MTTR

Mean Time Between Failures: You can check the average time between one equipment failure and the next.

Mean Time To Repair: You can check the average time it takes to repair equipment once a failure occurs.

5. Manage equipment in work centres

1. Go to the Maintenance module, click on Equipment, then Work Centres
2. Now, open a work centre and go to the Equipment tab
3. View all equipment with MTBF, MTTR, and next failure estimates
4. Click Add a line to assign new equipment to this work centre.
