Our daughter waited almost two weeks past her due date to arrive, but she did! What an absolute whirlwind the early days of parenthood is, from dealing with the emotional ride at the hospital to working out new sleeping habits with your spouse. I'm a little late getting this recap of August out there, but I think that I have a great excuse!

- A Unix Manifesto for the Age of AI by Dirk Harms-Merbitz - Stop trying to turn your projects into platforms. Do one thing well and respect the pipe
- Hypermedia Systems by Carson Gross, Adam Stepinski, and Deniz Akşimşek - This book made web development fun for me again.
- Metroid Prime (Game Cube) - Who needs the remaster? Played on disc and original hardware. One of the best games I've ever played, even if the controls were a little funky at first.
Other things
I just came back to a vertical slice project that I set aside a few months ago... I restarted the project.
LEGO is the only reason that I'm not into LEGO.
