I got tired of my RSS reader filling up with engagement bait and hot takes that sound important until you ask for actual details. Every morning I'd skim through dozens of posts, and maybe two or three had real substance—actual code snippets, numbers, or steps you could follow. The rest were just vibes.
LGTM fixes this by running posts through a rubric that actually matters. A panel of 328 builders posts constantly, and instead of letting algorithms decide what floats to the top, a model scores each post on whether it has real evidence behind it. Zero points for pure vibes, three points for numbers or code. Ten posts that clear the bar go out at 7am, tops. If fewer than seven posts are actually worth reading on a given day, they just don't send anything. It's oddly refreshing to see a newsletter that's willing to skip a day rather than pad the list.
The whole thing is free, no account needed, and they publish one line about each post so you decide whether to click through to the original. I'm getting maybe one or two throwaway pieces a week now instead of drowning in them, which means I actually have time to read what matters.
