Covering VPN basics, the different types, and the selection decision in one beginner-focused explanation is a sensible progression because the last part is where advice often gets vague. For someone choosing a VPN, I'd frame "right" around the actual threat model-public Wi-Fi exposure, ISP privacy, workplace access, or location shifting-then compare logging policy, protocol support, jurisdiction, and performance. The engineering tradeoff is that stronger privacy claims are only useful when users can understand which protections the VPN provides and which risks it does not address.
Thank you so much and to share such thoughtful feedback, Marcus. I really appreciate your suggestions, especially about framing VPN selection around real-world use cases and explaining both the protections and the limitations of a VPN. I'll definitely keep these points in mind as I work on my upcoming articles. Thanks again for your encouragement!
