While most users set up a Prometheus exporter to scrape metrics from individual targets (like applications or services), many don’t realize that one exporter can actually scrape metrics from multiple targets simultaneously. A great example is the Blackbox Exporter, which is commonly used for probing endpoints (HTTP, DNS, TCP, etc.).
Instead of deploying an exporter for each target, you can configure one Blackbox Exporter to probe multiple services or endpoints by passing the target URL as a parameter in the scrape configuration. This reduces redundancy, simplifies configurations, and makes your monitoring infrastructure more efficient.
