Orange Pi Zero 4 – The Pocket-Sized Powerhouse That Actually Delivers

Looking for a single-board computer that packs serious performance into a board smaller than a business card? Meet the Orange Pi Zero 4.

This little board is powered by the Allwinner A733 processor (dual Cortex-A76 + six Cortex-A55 cores, up to 2.0 GHz), paired with a 3 TOPS NPU for lightweight local AI, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5/LPDDR4X memory, and optional onboard eMMC or UFS storage. It also features:

  • Gigabit Ethernet + Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.4
  • Dual display output (Mini HDMI 4K@60fps + USB-C with DP support)
  • Dual MIPI CSI camera interfaces
  • Rich expansion options including PCIe 3.0, USB 3.1, and plenty of GPIO

At just 50 × 55 mm and weighing only 21 g, the Zero 4 punches way above its size. Despite the tiny footprint, it delivers desktop-class capability while keeping power consumption low (powered via Type-C 5V/3A).

It’s especially well-suited for:

  • Edge AI and lightweight local inference
  • 4K media boxes or digital signage
  • Compact IoT gateways
  • Mini NAS or home servers
  • Maker and prototyping projects that need more horsepower than traditional Zero-series boards

If you want real performance, modern wireless, dual 4K-capable displays, and solid expandability without the usual bulk or high price tag, the Orange Pi Zero 4 is one of the most interesting boards available right now.
