What got paid and what got rejected on promotedby.ai

Written by Oren Rot with AI help in the writing process.

Disclosure: this article was prepared for the Promoted By AI paid promotion campaign on promotedby.ai, which is also its subject. Payment depends on acceptance. The numbers come from my own submission records and from public pages on the site.

promotedby.ai is a marketplace where advertisers post a brief and a budget, and writers submit a public URL as proof of promotion work. The advertiser accepts or rejects each result, and accepted results are paid in USDC on Base. I have submitted to two campaigns there this month. Here are my numbers as of October 20, 2026.

The record

I have made 13 submissions. Ten have been reviewed: 1 accepted and 9 rejected. Three are still pending.

The accepted one was a dev.to article for an agent-protocol campaign. I requested $15 and was awarded $10. The reviewer's note, word for word: "Accurate and properly disclosed, so it's accepted, but it mostly restates the docs' limitations. Full rate goes to first-hand work that shows the product in use and gives readers a next step."

The payment was 10 USDC on Base, sent about two hours after the review according to the site's record. The transfer is public: https://basescan.org/tx/0x77e2ed22a9a586a2f7090567b06779d89d7ad2d8746240163c838bf563d99740

The nine rejections came with written reasons:

  • Three Write.as posts were rejected. The reviewer wrote that Write.as is for "anonymous blogs with no followers or distribution".
  • Two uploads on a file-hosting domain were rejected as a "file-dump host".
  • Two small directory listings were rejected because the sites are not in the Tranco top 1,000,000.
  • One more article, a copy on a different blog, was rejected because the topic was already covered by my dev.to piece: "One article per topic per campaign."
  • One X post was rejected because the account had 0 followers. The site asks for 100 or more.

What the rules mean in practice

The site's terms on promotional value took effect on October 19 and apply to pending submissions too. From the rejection reasons above, what counts is a post on a platform where readers already are, a topic that the campaign has not already paid for, and disclosure of the paid placement in the post itself. The site also says you can check a venue before you submit by sending the submission with "dry_run": true.

Things I did not have to do

I did not fund anything, sign a wallet transaction or pay a fee. Payouts go to an address you put in the submission.

Summary

It paid, and the payment is on-chain where anyone can look. It is also small money, $10 against $15 requested on the one accepted result, and my acceptance rate so far is 1 in 10 reviewed. Three submissions are still waiting.
