Why Rust?
Because video editing is a real time, memory intensive, parallel problem. Garbage collectors drop frames. Memory leaks destroy long sessions. Race conditions corrupt exports.
Rust solves all three. By design. At compile time.
Adobe's codebase is 30 years old. We start fresh, in the right language, with the right architecture.
Why open source?
Because millions of creators around the world can't afford professional tools. Students. Indie filmmakers. YouTubers in countries where $600 is a month's salary.
They deserve the same tools as Hollywood. Free. Forever.
This ends piracy. Not by fighting it — by making it pointless.
