To a certain degree, you are correct. But I could easily argue for the likes of frontend engineering, which leans more towards creativity, and less towards hardcore engineering. Animations, and moving of pixels doesn't require some mind shifting thought process of thinking in pointers and memory management.
My point, both spheres are still valid.
