Google indexing: Does the Newsarticle schema improve indexing?

So many claims have been made that some schema markups improve Google indexing.

Is any of them true?

So, I decided to do my own testing using the Newsarticle schema markup.

And it came out positive in a series of 6 carefully tested pages on different domains, schema markups can improve indexing.
