Just a fun thread for a Friday afternoon.
Most of us spend a significant percentage of our waking hours typing away on our keyboards. But how fast are we each typing?
Take the test here: https://10fastfingers.com/typing-test/
- What's your WPM (words-per-minute)?
- Do you use an external keyboard?
- Any Dvorak or other non-QWERTY typers?

I figured I'd break the ice by representing the not-so-fast typers out there:
I have always been a slow, inaccurate typist (with terrible form). Fortunately I write mostly Java in IntelliJ these days which means I don't really have to type all that much :D
I think I'm decent! 81 WPM. Keyboard: Apple Keyboard wireless.

Phew, I really tried hard here!
I have an external keyboard (Kinesis Freestyle 2), but I haven't unpacked it yet since moving.
I think I'm old and can no longer go past 115 😔
I don't know about you guys, but I am really inefficient with my fingers. I mostly use my two indexes, sometimes my left thumb will hit space, sometimes it's my right index on the space bar. My pinky is always on the MAJ key. Sometimes, I'll go absolutely nuts and type something using my other fingers, but it's oh so rare.
Not that it really matters to write code but I suppose that slows me down if I tried to be as fast as possible.
I had to post before @jess , because she's the fastest typer on the team. 🤓
A coworker once mocked me for not doing 10-finger typing.
I told him I was thinking faster so I could type more slowly.
He never mentioned my typing again.
And his frantic keyboard hacking slowed down considerably... ;)
Looks like with my typing style I could achieve something pushing a little hard on my French words
Not bad for someone which doesn't type with 10 fingers ^^'
My best out of 3 tries.
Keyboard: Vortex Race 3, Cherry MX Clear
Edit:
I think I do some sort of...
6 - 7 1/2
fingers typing style.^^114, 98% :D
