Day 19 of Building Crowdwide: Introducing WideWave!!

Well well well!!!

I was building a social media platform with an algorithm that helps new voices and communities grow through a special recommendation system. The algorithm isn't just about who joined first. Everyone gets an equal chance!

So, I've built most of the things. I just wanted to work on user retention and engagement, and that's what I've been working on.

First of all, I built a specialized email system that emails users after:

24 hours of inactivity

3 days of inactivity

7 days of inactivity

Every Sunday (newsletter)

Each email can also recommend posts based on the user's interests.

Then I was thinking...

Before this update, we had communities and free posts. When someone posted something, it mostly reached their followers. The problem? Even if users were interested in a particular topic, their feeds could still get mixed up with irrelevant content.

And if you posted in a community, your post mostly reached people who had joined that community.

So... keeping all this in mind, I built WideWave!

Introoooooooducingggg WideWave!!

Yea, it's like a new part of Crowdwide, with a much wider visibility. I know, right? 😭

There's a little glitch right now where images aren't loading properly, and I'm gonna fix it, hopefully tomorrow!

And the special thing about WideWave is that it has the potential to get posts in front of a much larger audience.

That's the main point! Helping posts reach the right audience and get more views and reach!

Right now, I think all the main things are built. I just need to fix that image bug and improve the navigation. That's it for now!

What do you think?

How can we get more users? How do we improve user retention?

Also, Crowdwide V2 is releasing on November 1, and this is one of the major updates I'm working on!
