PureHub 1.0.0-beta.5: turning tester feedback into better offline Android tools
PureHub is an open-source collection of everyday utility mini-apps. The Android build is free, contains no ads, and is designed to keep tool data on the device.
This beta focuses on four concrete issues reported by community testers.
What changed
- Decibel Meter: added rolling averages over 5, 10, 30, or 60 seconds, with a compact layout for narrow screens.
- Zen Pomodoro: added on-device White Noise, Brown Noise, and Soft Rain, including live switching while a focus session is running.
- Bubble Level & Ruler: added corner-to-center guides, a clearer center target, and an obvious green level state.
- Compass: cardinal labels now move with the dial while remaining upright and readable; north is highlighted in red.
What we verified
The release pipeline ran unit tests, lint, release optimization, signing, checksum generation, and an offline privacy gate. The APK requests no Android INTERNET permission. We then installed the signed release on a physical Android 16 phone and ran all four updated tools end to end.
Test the beta
If you test it, tell us which tool felt confusing, slow, or unnecessary. Specific feedback is what shaped this release, and it will shape the next one too.
