This is a submission for DEV Challenge v24.03.20, One Byte Explainer: Browser API or Feature.

Explainer

The experimental Web Share Target API allows installed PWAs (Progressive Web Apps) to act as a content sharing target.

You use share_target entry in your web app manifest to register as a share target and appear in the system's share dialog.

Additional Context

As this is an experimental API, the adoption is low.
