ABB has made the announcement of their plans to acquire Rotork, UK’s largest supplier of intelligent actuator technologies and flow control. The acquisition value stated by ABB is around 5.5 billion dollars. The acquisition is meant for increasing ABB’s capabilities in the field of automation and enhancing its market position in the areas like oil and gas, chemical, water, power, and manufacturing.
If the acquisition gets approved, Rotork will be able to operate independently as a separate division of the ABB automation unit and retain its expertise while gaining from ABB’s global market influence and technological resources.
