Technology is the New Living

Hey there! What according to you is Technology? I’ll go first. For me the term “Technology” had a huge impact in my life. In the initial stages, Technology was such a word to me that whenever I used to encounter it, I just used to skip that part of the journal. And the toughest time for me was watching techie-talks with my dad. It was nowhere less than teaching a pig to sing. My dad’s efforts in explaining to me the importance of technology were just the futility of an attempt to impart wisdom to the one who is not ready to receive it. So, as mentioned above, the term technology has played and will definitely be playing a vast role in my life as I’m a Computer Science Engineering student(by my own choice). Hence, you might have understood by now how hard technology has hit me outstripping my puberty too.

So, those were just for starters. If you have ever been in my place and could relate yourself to me anywhere above, glad and also welcome to my team! It is obvious that every child knows how to operate electronic gadgets, and the fact of a child teaching it’s parents how to use it has now become a cliché. Well, that’s all just the talks which everyone keeps listening and repeating the same over and over. While they do so, let’s have some real “Techie-Talk”. Basically, the only technologies I knew during my fresher’s year were Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, Automation, Cyber Security and the most intriguing one, “Ethical Hacking”. Yeah, It was a luring term for me as it was just the jackknife of my dive into the ocean of technologies. I could only think of hacking all the gadgets with those most fascinating codes. And that happened until the time I realized that there’s a word before the term hacking which means everything but the thoughts of hacking in my mind, of course “Ethics”. Anyways, that goes along with the emergence of new and trending technologies like Big Data, Biogenetics, Blockchain, Nanotechnology, Cognitive Networking and what not. Damn, it felt like, “nevermind about all the wrongdoings or unusual decisions in my life. But choosing my career to be in the technical domain was the best decision I shall be appreciating my whole life”. The above mentioned technologies were so overwhelming to me in the beginning which left me awestruck and pondering “what else is left to emerge?”.

Let's move on to the emerging technologies. Emerging technology, the name itself implies the technologies that are emerging or growing with time as result of research in those technologies. Emerging technologies are bringing revolutionary changes because of growth in technology. We have made ourselves so dependent on technologies that we are running short on the adjectives to describe our comfortness in having those as part of our lives. Internet and computer applications in the future may become simpler than now. In the coming decades, we can expect revolutionary changes in the world which leads to nano size electronics instead of chips now we are using, medical nano applications increasing the lives of people. And it also shows the impact on the social life of humans. And that is gonna happen for sure, as we know that as the growth of the technology is taking place rigorously, which is a good thing, but are we realizing the fact that it is reducing the manpower in all types of sectors, which might lead to daily wage laborer’s nights empty stomach. Also, if that’s not what you think, how about pondering the thought upon the fact that not having any real person in life during your dark times, rather having those “reel” people in your DMs who appear out of nowhere and ghost you because they get busy binge watching on Netflix and let you live your #meTime though you didn’t really see that coming. This is how the negative side of technology is gonna jeopardize your life which would have been the healthiest with the existence of the in-person human in your life. Well, that’s our personal choice, so let's not get more deep into it. But yeah, it's high time we contemplate it.

For me, personally, I believe that Blockchain is the technology that has seen a huge boom in a very short span of time. A few years ago, it was just the “existing” technology. But now it’s a hot cake. For those who are not sure about what exactly Blockchain: A Blockchain is basically a decentralized, distributed ledger of all the transactions or events which takes place only after involving multiple parties. It ensures a high level of security as the transactions which take place are entirely anonymous and that is what makes people go crazy about it as day-by-day it's getting pretty difficult for us to trust any third party apps or the online transactions process as we know that there is a surge in cases of database breaches and the bidding of our personal and private data on the dark web. It’s like taking a toll on hard earned money for attempting any digital transactions. Hence, Blockchain is living in the minds of people rent free. It is one of the emerging technologies in today's world and a lot of revolution and research has just begun regarding this distributed technology. Bitcoin has been the most popular cryptographic currency since it was invented and it is the best example that uses the Blockchain technology. Like any new technology, the blockchain is an idea that initially disrupts, and over time it could promote the development of a larger ecosystem that includes both the old way and the new innovation. Thus, over time, blockchain technology could exist in a larger ecosystem with both centralized and decentralized models.
