Today, I explored some essential cloud computing concepts that are highly relevant in the tech industry, especially for data professionals. Here’s a quick overview of what I learned:
☁️ Cloud Computing – Understanding the basics of how computing resources (like servers, storage, and databases) are delivered over the internet.
💡 Service Models:
- SaaS (Software as a Service) – Ready-to-use applications hosted by cloud providers (e.g., Google Workspace, Dropbox).
- PaaS (Platform as a Service) – Provides a platform to develop, run, and manage applications without handling the infrastructure (e.g., Google App Engine, Heroku).
- IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) – Offers virtualized computing resources over the internet (e.g., AWS EC2, Microsoft Azure).
🖥️ Virtual Machines (VMs) – Learned how VMs simulate physical computers, enabling us to run multiple operating systems on one device and scale resources based on demand.
These concepts are the foundation of many modern data platforms and are key to understanding how data is stored, accessed, and processed in real-world projects.
I’m excited to keep learning and connecting the dots between cloud technology and data analytics.
