Day 29 of My Data Analytics Journey !

Today I stepped into the world of Power BI — one of the most powerful tools for data visualization and reporting.

Key Learnings

1️⃣ Installing Power BI

  • Downloaded Power BI Desktop from the official Microsoft site.
  • Installation is simple — just follow the setup wizard.
  • Once installed, you can start building reports right away.

2️⃣ Exploring Power BI Options

  • Home Tab → Get Data, Transform Data, Manage Relationships
  • Insert Tab → Add visuals, text boxes, buttons, images
  • Model Tab → Relationships between tables
  • View Tab → Report View, Data View, Model View
  • Visualizations Pane → Charts, slicers, maps, cards, etc.

3️⃣ Uploading Data into Power BI

Power BI supports multiple data sources:

  • Excel Workbook (.xlsx, .xls)
  • CSV or Text files
  • SQL Server / Databases
  • Web data
  • SharePoint / Cloud services
  • Direct Query from online services (Azure, Google Analytics, etc.)

 Overall, today’s learning gave me a strong start with Power BI. Next, I’ll explore how to transform data with Power Query and create my first dashboard.
