Nevertheless, Rebecca Moreau Coded

I began coding because...

I wanted to be a librarian. I had no idea what I wanted to do in High School, but I knew that I enjoyed my part time job at the local library. So I decided to go to a combined Bachelor's and Master's program with Computer Science as my undergrad. The first time I coded, I remember it was so frustrating and yet so rewarding when I finally figured out the solution. I loved puzzling through problems so much that I decided to become a Programmer rather than a Librarian.

I continued to code in 2019 because ...

Every day, I get to solve exciting new challenges and problems. (and continue to be frustrated by them and elated when I find the solution)

I deserve credit for ...

Being an organizer for two groups that run workshops and meetups for women, non-binary folks, and anyone who has felt left out of "traditional" tech spaces to come and learn tech skills together.
