MCP Registry Diff #1: 4,588 new servers, 197 deprecated — week of Oct 26–Nov 1, 2026

TL;DR

  • 4,588 servers were newly published to the official MCP Registry this week; 197 were deprecated.
  • One publisher deprecated its entire catalogue — 137 of the week's 197 deprecations came from a single namespace on Oct 31.
  • This is the first issue, so the Delisted section starts empty by design: removed servers can only be measured by diffing daily snapshots, and our snapshot series starts this week. Nobody can backfill it — including us.

What this is

The official MCP Registry is growing faster than anyone can browse: as of Nov 7 it held 224,711 records covering 58,083 distinct servers. This weekly diff reads the registry's own change stream — every server's publishedAt and statusChangedAt — plus a daily full snapshot, and reports what actually changed: what is new, what was deprecated, and (from next issue) what disappeared entirely.

🆕 New this week — the notable 12

4,588 new listings is a flood, and much of it is bulk publishing (see the note below). These twelve stood out — each has a public repository and a concrete job:

  • BORME API — Spain's official company-registry gazette (BORME) as an MCP server: more than 9.6 million events since 2009.
  • CloudBrowser — a real cloud Chrome for AI agents: sessions, navigation, page reading, clicks, typing and screenshots.
  • Agent Guild — see and steer Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Grok and Docker Agent sessions from one place.
  • Bewary — scam, phishing and fraud checks for agents: URLs, domains, phones, emails, wallets and IBANs.
  • Atlas Data — scrapers for the Google, Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok ad libraries, plus Indeed, Google Jobs, Glassdoor and Google Trends.
  • Docket Room — bills, hearings, votes and legislators for all 50 US states, DC and Congress, from official sources.
  • EU & Nordic Open-Data Suite — official EU and Nordic open data in one server: TED tenders, sanctions, VIES, VAT rates, GLEIF, ECB and national registers.
  • MapRouter — maps, geocoding and time zones for coding agents, built on OpenStreetMap, with hard prepaid spend caps.
  • mcp-warden — a local credential broker: agents call APIs, SSH and databases via scoped presets while secrets stay in your keychain.
  • Groundrule — your repository's engineering standards, served to coding agents: rules per file, a CI check, and rule proposals.
  • Recued — a self-hosted approval layer between AI agents and your accounts; by default, writes wait for your yes.
  • Utilitly PDF — merge, split, rotate and reorder PDF pages entirely on your own computer. Nothing is uploaded.

The bulk note. The week's growth is concentrated: io.usefulapi alone added 278 listings, io.github.mrfentmen 182, and io.github.CYAN-ECLIPSE-TECHNOLOGIES-LLC 142. Of the 4,588 new servers, 2,333 list a public repository. Filtering that flood down to the substantive entries is most of what this diff is for.

⚠️ Newly deprecated — 197

  • One publisher, 137 deprecations. On Oct 31, io.github.CSOAI-ORG (MEOK AI Labs) deprecated its entire catalogue — accessibility, accounting, ad-copy and dozens more "AI MCP" servers all changed status the same day. That single decision is 70% of this week's deprecation count.
  • Deprecation as migration: ai.b77/fibalo was deprecated with a pointer — "Moved to de.fibalo/mcp" — the healthy way to retire a listing.
  • Also deprecated this week: fyi.agentdrop and fyi.agentdrop/ai (pay-per-call agent tools over x402), io.contextstream/mcp (persistent memory for coding assistants), and io.geonode/scraper (web extraction).

If you depend on any of these, the registry still serves the records — but the publishers have signalled they are done maintaining them.

🗑️ Delisted — starts next issue

A deprecated server is still listed. A delisted server is gone — and the registry's API has no "removed" event. The only way to know is to hold yesterday's full list and diff it against today's. Our snapshot series (a complete pull of all 224,711 records) began on Nov 7, 2026, so the first measured delisted report lands in issue #2. This section is the one part of the diff that can never be reconstructed later — which is exactly why we publish the counts from day one.

Method, in the open

  • Source: the official MCP Registry API (registry.modelcontextprotocol.io), the only source. Events are dated by the registry's own fields: new = a server name whose first publishedAt falls in the week (Mon–Sun, UTC); deprecated = status changed to deprecated in the week, per statusChangedAt.
  • Notable picks: new servers with a public repository and a substantive description, at most two per publisher namespace. Annotations are condensed from each server's own registry description.
  • The registry's terms expressly allow downstream consumers to persist and re-serve this metadata; this feed is built entirely on that posture.

The MCP Registry Diff is a weekly feed published by RegBase. This free sample is issue #1; issue #2 (week of Nov 2–8) is on Hashnode. A paid edition with the complete machine-readable diff is in preparation.
