White became black, and the expression softened. Robe, posture and surrounding scene held together well enough to keep the character recognisable. One thing changed that we hadn't asked for, though: her eye colour moved from blue to a darker, warmer tone.
That makes this a useful illustration of the trade-off in character-level editing. Substantial changes are possible while the overall character survives, but individual identity cues can still drift. It matters for character variations, because features like eye colour and hairstyle often carry as much recognition weight as the change you actually requested.

The effect came out cleanly, and so did the cyan light that had been falling on her hair and the left side of her face. That second part is what makes it notable — the edit didn't merely erase visible particles, it removed the illumination tied to them. Useful whenever an unwanted element is also driving the character's lighting.
Add or Edit Text in an AI Image

Tsubaki.3 produced a speech bubble with readable English text, placed clear of the character's face. It also added a small yellow particle near her hair that nobody asked for.
The phrase itself rendered clearly enough to be practical. That stray particle, though, shows how even a straightforward text edit can nudge other parts of the image. Short dialogue or labels should work; more complex typography will likely need repeat attempts.
For editing text in an AI image, concise instructions plus a clearly specified location cut down on unnecessary changes elsewhere in the composition.
Change the Background, Lighting, or Mood

This reads less like a background swap and more like a full lighting transformation — the new environment changes how the character is lit, not just what sits behind her. That cohesion is a strength, but it also demonstrates how global environmental changes reach character details nobody explicitly targeted.
Test 2: Change the Atmosphere
We also moved the character out of the sanctuary and onto an open, snow-covered mountain peak at golden-hour dusk.
A new snowy environment and dusk atmosphere duly appeared, along with several compositional changes we hadn't asked for. Framing jumped from a medium shot to a full-body wide shot, shrinking the character within the scene. Her hands left the original casting gesture and dropped to her sides.
Here's a clearer boundary of instruction-based editing: when an environmental change substantially alters spatial context, the model may reinterpret the composition rather than simply swapping the background. Preserving original camera framing and pose gets less predictable as transformations grow.
