Monkey Mart is one of those browser games that looks simple but has more depth than you'd expect. If you're just starting out, here's everything you need to know to get your supermarket running efficiently from day one.
What is Monkey Mart?
Monkey Mart is a free idle simulation game by TinyDobbins. You control a monkey who runs a supermarket — harvesting crops, stocking shelves, serving customers, and eventually hiring helper monkeys to automate the whole operation. No download required, plays directly in your browser.
Basic Controls
On desktop, use WASD or arrow keys to move your monkey. On mobile, an on-screen joystick appears automatically. The controls are intentionally simple — the complexity comes from deciding where to move and what to prioritize.
The Core Loop
Walk over a crop to harvest it automatically. Carry the items to the corresponding shelf. Customers walk in, pick up items, and pay at the checkout. Coins go into your wallet. Spend coins on upgrades and new sections.
That's the entire game — but the depth comes from managing multiple sections simultaneously, deciding upgrade order, and knowing when to hire helpers.
First 10 Minutes: What to Do
Start by keeping the banana shelf stocked at all times. Bananas are your first product and fastest to harvest. Don't let the shelf sit empty — every empty shelf is lost income. Once you have enough coins, upgrade your harvest speed before anything else. More frequent harvesting beats larger shelf capacity in the early game.
When to Hire Your First Helper
Hire your first helper monkey as soon as you can afford it. Assign them to the banana section. From that point, you can focus on the corn section while your helper handles bananas. This is the moment the game opens up.
