I dreamed the name. Then I built it.
One night I dreamed someone asked me, "did you hear about the guy that was snagging crypto to help others?" I woke up and realized the guy was me. The dream even gave me the name. Snag.
I am not a storyteller by trade. I am a builder. So I built it.
Here is the problem I kept circling. Billions of dollars move through crypto rails every single day. And giving is still a separate chore. You finish your business, then you go somewhere else, fill out another form, pay a platform cut, and hope the money lands where you meant it to land. Most people mean to give. The friction wins.
Snag removes the friction by making the send the donation.
It works like this. You are already sending ETH or BTC. You opt in to route through Snag. One percent of your send goes to a cause wallet you pick. Your destination gets the other 99 percent. There is no separate donation step. There is no new token to buy. There is no platform cut. Every snag is a normal on chain transfer to a public wallet, so anyone can verify the money reached the cause. Forever.
The causes are specific on purpose. Eight of them. Diapers for low income families. Utility bills for single mothers. Groceries. School supplies. Medical bill relief. Shelter and warm beds. Clean water. Disaster relief. Each one has its own public ETH and BTC wallet. Specificity moves people. A black box does not.
The build is small and deliberate. Two Solidity contracts, 158 lines. The routers are live on the Sepolia testnet right now, and an end to end test snag already confirmed the 99/1 split on chain. The fee is fixed at 1 percent, hard capped at 10 percent inside the contract so it can never drift. Eighteen tests, all green. The code is public and MIT licensed.
What is next is the audit. A third party security audit is the gating item before mainnet, and I am funding it the way an independent builder funds things: grants, one application at a time. The intro call with the first audit firm is this week. The code stays frozen until a professional has reviewed it. I will not ship unaudited contracts to mainnet. That is the whole credibility ladder: audit, then mainnet, then real volume, then named charity partners holding the wallets themselves.
Why am I writing this in public? Because the idea arrived in a dream and I owe it the daylight. If you send crypto and you have ever thought "I should give more," this is the version where giving costs you one percent and zero extra steps.
The site is live. The code is open. Come look.
