Every once in a white I see some article that stays memorable, and on rare cases when blogs aren't using generic unsplash images (like I do too sometimes) they often post screenshots of their own setups, code, wallpapers among other things, this is akin to peeking at a friend's desktop see what games they are playing.
There's this rss feed of a blog I follow hundredrabbits, known for making orca and urn, they have these handdrawn aesthetic to their wallpapers, and tools they make. I eagerly even tried to replicate one design I saw on the blog showing a music player for desktop. They use a custom made code editor built on urntal, their own made vm. Fonts thy use have that vibe of a retro computer as well.
Now the exact font they have been using seems a bit too unreadable to me, but the ones I use and shuffle between, while readable, are no fun. Jetbrains mono stopped looking cool to me long ago, cascadia code, fira code, they are nice with lots of fanbase but the one that has recently caught my attention is this one.
Victor Mono Medium. Readable, while bringing that classic old computer vibe. The code you see on screen is just this demo of an app I named catgpt, think Eliza but dumber, there's also a doctor mode which tries to be smarter than Eliza, never mind that, what you should know is that I this would have been funny and interesting maybe even a decade ago, it's not anymore. Anyone visiting my static page would probably think this is a weak model instead of the fact that they are just talking to some glorified regex code.
In a world as such, it sometimes is not the projects themselves but the little things like the font and colorscheme one uses that brings happiness. Javascript is certainly not a language to talk about when speaking of happiness, but it is fun to whip up cool demos. And I just wanted to show my cool font and screen.
