Specifically I'm looking at
RTX-5080 and RTX-5090 prices, and 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000.
I've taken screenshots of cheapest prices for in-stock graphic cards on the three prominent Australian computer parts shops.

TL;DR
In January 2026, average prices for cheap variants of RTX 5080 increased by 6% to $1,899 AUD, compared to November 2025's $1,786.
The prices for cheapest RTX 5090 cards rose 15.2% in just two months - from $4,832 in November 2025 to $5,566 in January 2026. The price hike is accelerating compared to the 12.9% increase observed in November.
RAM prices surged 38% - from $499 in December 2025 to $689 in January 2026 for the cheapest 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz modules in stock.
The recommended NVidia MSRP for the RTX 5080 is $2,019, and MSRP for RTX 5090 is $4,039.

Despite Black Friday sales in late November, all prices continue to climb across the board.
RTX 5090 prices
Right now, in the middle of January 2026 the average price for cheap (lol) GPU variant of the RTX 5090 in Australia is 5,565 which is 15.9% higher than November 2025's $4,832, the pricehike accelerates. In November this price went 12% up in a month.

Scorptec's lowest price of the in-stock rtx-5090 is $5.399 AUD.
RTX 5080 prices
In January 2026 the average price for for cheapest RTX 5080 in Australia was $1,899 AUD,
which is 6% higher then November 2025's $1,786.

32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000 RAM modules
Now, in a mid-January 2026 the "average cheap" price for 32GB RAM modules pair is $689 AUD, comparing to $499 in December 2025. That's 38% higher!
Those were different modules, and one might think we are comparing apples to oranges, but no...
We are comparing prices for cheapest RAM instock.
