Complete Reference: Default Router Gateway IPs & Subnet Masks (2026)

When configuring consumer routers, network engineers and home-lab builders often run into subnet collisions, especially when bridging an ISP gateway with a third-party mesh system.

Most hardware manufacturers default to specific RFC 1918 private IPv4 blocks. Below is the updated 2026 reference list for default admin gateways across major OEMs.

1. The 192.168.1.x Block (Standard Consumer)

The most common gateway in the world is 192.168.1.1. This is the default login for almost all Asus, Linksys, and older Netgear hardware.

2. The 192.168.0.x Block (D-Link & TP-Link)

If 192.168.1.1 times out, the router is likely on the zero subnet. The gateway 192.168.0.1 is strictly used by TP-Link, D-Link, and many generic ISP modems.

3. The 10.0.0.x Block (Comcast/Xfinity & Modern Fiber)

To prevent double-NAT issues with bridged equipment, modern ISP fiber gateways (like Xfinity) default to 10.0.0.1.
