FocusWhileAI is a Chrome extension I built to solve a very specific problem we all have: Losing focus while waiting for AI.
Every time we wait for ChatGPT or Gemini to generate a response, we instinctively switch tabs to check social media and often lose 15 minutes of deep work. FocusWhileAI prevents this by keeping you engaged right inside the tab.
With FocusWhileAI, you can: ⚡ Stay Productive: Solve speed math or typing challenges while the AI thinks. 🧘 Stay Calm: Use box breathing or read Stoic quotes to reset your mind. 📰 Stay Informed: Catch up on Hacker News headlines without doom-scrolling. 🔒 Stay Private: It runs locally and never reads your chats.
This project started because I realized how much time I was wasting just waiting. It slowly evolved from a simple script into a full productivity companion.
How it works:
➡️ You hit enter on ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini.
➡️ A non-intrusive widget pops up with Speed typing, Tech News, or Stoic quotes, etc..
➡️ The AI finishes, the widget disappears, and you get back to work.
