As an undergraduate, the opportunity of contributing to the open-source is the best experience you gain can develop your documentation skills and coding skills. Been versatile in computer science and helping each other with what you know with your colleagues are some soft skills that I learned as well.
Thanks to the Hacktoberfest, It influences us to do so, and hope to continue this momentum in the future as well.
Projects that I contribute,
- SAG4X/DSA - Data structures and algorithms repository
- SAG4X/buzzword_elevate - which was quite a creative repository to create tools for buzzwords uses in computer science like prefix/postfix notation checker, gcd finder, etc
- datacamp - which is a machine learning and data science algorithm hub with python for students
