Every channel has its own failure mode, and almost none tells you why. Here is what was
measured channel by channel — and what to do instead of pushing harder.

Reddit: a new account cannot post

A low-karma account's post is removed by an automatic filter, with no explaining message. It is
not a “shadowban”: it is karma. Pushing harder burns the account.

What to do: participate before promoting — useful comments in existing threads, for weeks.
The promotional post comes later, and only where the community allows it. While karma is low, do
not insist: publish where you already have reputation.

X: the disabled button that is not a ban

The post button shows aria-disabled=true and looks like an account block. Most of
the time it is a character limit: the URL shortens to 23 characters, but the text around it
goes over the ceiling. Trim the text and the button comes back.

What to do: consolidate into one short post instead of a thread. A 260-character post
publishes; a thread whose first post is 331 publishes nothing.

dev.to: easy to publish, canonical is another path

Publishing through the UI works (title + body). Two traps: the tags field ignores
synthetic typing (it needs text insertion plus clicking the suggestion), and the canonical
URL
does not exist in the editor — only through the API, with a key the account has to
generate.

What to do: publish through the UI and fix canonical later with an API key (or accept
dev.to's default canonical).

LinkedIn: the post shows on the profile, not the feed

Checking “did it publish?” by looking at recent activity or your own feed gives a false negative
— your own posts do not reliably appear there. The correct check is to open the public
profile and look for the text.

Direct email is still the most underrated channel

A specific message to whoever owns the problem (supplier, maintainer, partner) arrives, gets
read and gets answered — while the generic post competes with a thousand. Two well-written emails
today produced two business conversations; no post produced one.
