Democracy: This is when the people get to make choices about how their country is run, either by voting themselves or by choosing people to vote on their behalf.

Constitution: This is like a rule book for a country, which tells everyone how things should be done and what people's rights are.

Rule of law: This means that everyone, even the people in charge, have to follow the rules and be fair to everyone.

Federalism: This is when a country is split up into smaller groups, and each group has some power to make their own choices.

Human rights: These are basic rights that everyone should have, like being safe, being able to speak their mind, and being treated fairly.

Civil society: This is when people work together outside of the government to make things better for everyone, like by starting groups or volunteering.

Citizenship: This means that you are part of a country, and you have certain rights and responsibilities to that country, like obeying the laws and helping your community.
