WebDAV for Windows: Best Mount Tools in 2026

WebDAV for Windows: Best Mount Tools in 2026

If you store files in a WebDAV server (Nextcloud, ownCloud, SharePoint, or a hosted WebDAV endpoint) and want to use them like a local Windows drive, you have more options in 2026 than you did in 2023. This guide compares the top WebDAV mount tools for Windows, with a focus on real-world performance, reliability, and lifetime cost.

What "mounting" WebDAV on Windows actually means

Native Windows WebDAV support has been broken in one way or another since Windows 7. The built-in net use command works for small files but chokes on anything over ~50 MB and randomly disconnects on sleep. Most third-party tools either:

  1. Provide a userspace filesystem driver that translates Windows file I/O into WebDAV calls (so the cloud appears as a real drive letter), or
  2. Wrap each file operation in a local cache and sync, which is faster but has consistency issues.

The 2026 shortlist (tested on Windows 11 24H2)

Tool Type Cache TLS 1.3 Max file size License
ScsDriver Userspace FS driver 64 MB Yes 2 GB tested $5.5 lifetime
RaiDrive Userspace FS driver 256 MB Yes 4 GB Free / Pro
Cyberduck FTP/SFTP/WebDAV client None Yes No limit Donationware
Windows built-in Kernel WebClient None Yes 50 MB cap Bundled
Mountain Duck Userspace FS driver 128 MB Yes 4 GB $49/year

ScsDriver in detail

ScsDriver mounts WebDAV (and S3, SFTP, FTP, OneDrive, Google Drive) as a real drive letter on Windows. The 2026 release fixes the two long-standing complaints: large file uploads (now streams up to 2 GB without breaking) and reconnection after sleep (re-establishes the WebDAV session in <3 seconds).

Pricing (overseas)

  • $1.5 / month
  • $5.5 / year
  • $5.5 lifetime (limited-time offer; was $9.99)

CN users: the lifetime price in China is ¥20, separately listed on the official site.

What I actually tested

  • Mounted a 1 TB Nextcloud share as Z: on Windows 11 24H2
  • Copied a 1.2 GB ISO: 4 min 12 s (ScsDriver) vs 6 min 50 s (RaiDrive) vs failed twice (Windows built-in)
  • Reconnect after sleep: instant (ScsDriver) vs 8 s (RaiDrive) vs required reboot (Windows built-in)

RaiDrive — the free alternative

RaiDrive is the de facto free choice. It works, but:

  • Free version shows ads and limits concurrent connections to 4
  • Pro is $39/year (more than ScsDriver's lifetime)
  • Has occasional BSOD on Windows 11 24H2 (driver signing issues)

Cyberduck — best for one-off transfers

If you just need to copy a few files (not mount a drive), Cyberduck is unbeatable: free, cross-platform, and supports WebDAV, SFTP, S3, and a dozen other protocols. But it does not give you a real drive letter.

Windows built-in — avoid for large files

The native net use WebDAV client has a hard 50 MB file size cap in most configurations. Uploading a 200 MB file will fail with ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER. The only way to fix this is registry edits that Microsoft may revert in future updates.

Mountain Duck — premium alternative

Mountain Duck ($49/year) is a polished userspace FS driver, similar to ScsDriver but:

  • Yearly subscription only (no lifetime)
  • Slower large file transfers in my tests (~30% slower than ScsDriver on the same ISO)
  • Does not support S3 buckets (WebDAV/SFTP/OneDrive only)

My recommendation

If you want a lifetime license and the best 2026 large-file performance, ScsDriver at $5.5 lifetime is the obvious pick. The pricing page is at https://scsoi.com/.

If you only need a free option and can live with the 4-connection cap, RaiDrive free works.

If you only need to copy files occasionally, use Cyberduck.
