Conductor — Talk once. Agents build it. You approve it.

If you use Claude Code on one repo and want several agents working at once without babysitting them, this is for you.

Conductor is a Claude Code plugin that runs many sessions on one repository in isolated worktrees — and ships nothing without your approval of the exact SHA.

What you get

1. Talk once, get parallel work done. Describe the work once and multiple agents build in parallel. Conductor analyzes the repo and proposes a plan — and nothing starts until you approve it. You never micromanage each session.

2. No overwritten work. Each session works in its own isolated worktree, so sessions never overwrite each other. When work overlaps, it queues instead of colliding.

3. Ship without fear. Only you approve the exact SHA before anything deploys — in Release Manager. If the code changes after approval, the approval dies. Force push is never used, and relayed approval is refused.

4. Less review work. Failing tests come first, then implementation. A read-only review gate (up to 2 rounds) and a test gate must pass, so problems get caught before they reach you.

5. Stay in control, stay local. Free and open source under Apache 2.0. Runs locally with your own Claude Code subscription — no hosted service to trust.

How it works

  • You describe the work once. Conductor analyzes the repo and proposes a plan.
  • Nothing starts until you approve the plan. No approval, no work.
  • Each session works in its own isolated worktree. Overlaps queue instead of colliding.
  • Failing tests first, then implementation. Review and test gates must pass.
  • The result is locked to a SHA. Only you approve that exact SHA in Release Manager. If anything changes after approval, the approval is invalid.

Safety rules that matter:

  • Approval is for one exact SHA, not for a branch in general.
  • Pipeline failures block deployment.
  • Database writes and external calls are not covered by a relayed approval.
  • Worktrees live under ~/.conductor-kit/worktrees/<repo>, never /tmp.

Verified results (not vibes):

  • 44/44 kit tests passed.
  • Session-manager live run verified: concurrent starts, overlap queueing, full pipeline, SHA verification.
  • Public install verified from seattle78/AgentQuest: conductor-kit@conductor-kit version 1.1.0, enabled.

Requirements: Claude Code plugin support, Node 18+, git 2.20+, a remote and a deploy branch. Multi-session needs desktop Code tabs or tmux 3.x.
