A few months ago, I was deep in the job hunt — sending out applications left and right.
At first, I thought I was staying organized. But pretty quickly, things got messy.
Emails got buried.
I forgot which companies replied.
And yeah, I definitely applied to the same role more than once.
That’s when I decided to build InboxHelm — a simple way to organize job apps and receipts, straight from your inbox.
What It Does
InboxHelm connects to Gmail (read-only), and automatically pulls in useful stuff like:
- Job Applications – grouped by company, with status tags like applied, interviewed, ghosted, and rejected
- Receipts – easy to browse, export, and track for budgeting or taxes
No manual labels. No digging through threads. Just clarity.
Why I’m Building This
I’m building InboxHelm solo — from my place in Montréal — because I needed it myself.
It’s built with Firebase, React, and way too much coffee.
Right now:
- It works great with Gmail
- Job tracking is live
- Receipt tracking is in early testing
- I'm waiting on Google to verify the app (so yeah, there's that unverified app screen for now)
Try It Out
If your inbox is your second brain — and it’s a bit of a mess — InboxHelm might help.
This is an early build, so I’m welcoming feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas.
Thanks for reading — and if you're job hunting right now, good luck out there.
