Installation Complexity

Audiobookshelf is extremely simple — one container, point it at your audiobook and podcast directories. No external database, no setup wizard. Create an account on first access and start adding libraries.

One critical note: the config directory (/config) must be on a local filesystem. NFS or SMB mounts cause SQLITE_BUSY errors that corrupt your database.
