A quick note before you read on: FaceFig is NOT FaceRig.
FaceFig is a cloud AI portrait / headshot generator that turns a single photo into professional business portraits, LinkedIn headshots, ID photos and more. FaceRig is real-time webcam VTuber avatar tracking software — completely unrelated.
This confusion keeps happening, and it cost us months of visibility. Here's what we changed to fix it.
The problem
Search “facefig” and Google sometimes shows FaceRig instead. Two unrelated products, one similar name, and the search engine couldn't tell them apart.
What we did
- Entity disambiguation: added structured data (Organization schema) with sameAs links to Wikidata and Crunchbase so search engines treat FaceFig as its own entity.
- On-site copy: consistent disambiguation statement across landing page, about page and this post.
- Inbound links: published this and other guides to build references pointing at facefig.com.
Why it matters for makers
If you're building an AI tool, check your name isn't colliding with a desktop app. A clear “we are not X” line in your metadata, schema and content beats hoping Google figures it out.

This is a honest note from the FaceFig team.
