Hi everyone, I'm Zidan from Bangladesh.
For the last few months, I've been working on a concept that I'm really passionate about - What if we replace copper with LIGHT inside a mobile chip?
The Problem: 60 cores in a phone chip with copper = Extreme heat. It will melt.
My Concept Solution: A 60-Core SoC where all cores talk via Photonic Waveguides (light), not copper.
Specs (Concept):
60 Cores (6x10 array)
Size: 15mm x 15mm (Standard Smartphone SoC size)
Interconnect: 3D Photonic Mesh - Zero Copper
Power Target: <1W - Thermal Neutral
Bandwidth Target: 2.4 Tbps
Form Factor: Phone-ready ultra-compact
This is a concept render, not real silicon. I designed the 2D blueprint, 3D board version, and 15mm SoC version.
I'm looking for honest feedback from hardware/photonics engineers:
Is a fully photonic mesh feasible for mobile SoCs in the next 5-10 years? What's the biggest bottleneck - laser integration or waveguide loss?
Attaching my 3 renders. Would love to hear your thoughts.
