Two weeks ago I launched NotebookBloom — my Chrome extension for NotebookLM (now Gemini Notebook). Here's every number, across all three dashboards, warts and all.
Chrome Web Store: 19 installs, 3 uninstalls, 16 net. Six of them are weekly-active, and the extension panel has been opened 39 times. For a zero-budget, one-person tool two weeks in, that's the "from nobody to somebody uses it" step — and I'll take it.
The website (Google Analytics): 21 visitors, 29 sessions, average time on page 99 seconds. That 99 seconds is the number that actually makes me calm — people aren't bouncing, they're reading the landing page (demo video and all). Traffic came mostly from social (a Facebook post) and direct clicks; only 2 sessions from organic search so far. That's expected — search takes months to warm up.
Search Console, week 1 → week 2: impressions doubled from 115 to 260, I got my first 2 clicks ever (from Turkey and Algeria — not my core market, but somebody clicked, and that's the point), and average desktop position moved from ~34 to ~27. My best page is still the niche one: the "get NotebookLM sources into Zotero" post is now at position 17.5, closing in on page one. The broad "bulk import" page has the most impressions but is stuck at 38. Same lesson as week 1, reinforced: a new site wins on specific, low-competition terms first.
If I zoom out, the thing I'm happiest about isn't any single number — it's that the whole funnel now has real people in every stage: seen on Google → visited the site → installed → still using it. Every layer is tiny. But two weeks ago every layer was zero.
What I'm watching next: whether uninstalls climb with installs (3 so far, too small to read), and whether organic search starts to pull its weight as rankings mature. Two weeks is enough to confirm direction, not speed. I'll post these same numbers again in two weeks.
