I recently worked on a beginner-level Python project to understand how Object-Oriented Programming can be applied to a practical IT support scenario.
Project: IT Support Ticket System
The system represents support tickets using a Python SupportTicket class.
Each ticket contains:
1.Ticket ID
2.Employee name
3.Issue description
4.Priority
5.Status
I also implemented a display_ticket() method to display the ticket information.
Concepts Practiced
- Python Classes
- Objects
__init__()self- Attributes
- Methods
- Object-specific data
- Basic OOP structure
Example Use Case
A support team can maintain tickets such as:
Ticket 1001
Employee: Rahul
Issue: Laptop not connecting to Wi-Fi
Priority: High
Status: Open
Ticket 1002
Employee: Anjali
Issue: VPN not working
Priority: Medium
Status: Open
Ticket 1003
Employee: Vikram
Issue: Outlook not sending emails
Priority: Low
Status: Resolved
This is still a small learning project, but my goal is to gradually move from basic Python/OOP projects toward more realistic backend and IT automation scenarios.
I’d appreciate feedback from experienced developers and DevOps professionals on how this project could be improved or extended from a real-world perspective.
